"Now *this* is what I like about Portuguese food! It's like being in someone's busy home. We were recommended it by a local friend who mentioned the steak. You won't find fancy dishes here with all sorts of spices. It's rustic food, served with care. They don't flavour much for you, and leave it to you to add salt, pepper, vinegar, or oil to your liking for salads and veg. Octopus salad isn't anything frou-frou, just perfectly cooked and tasty. The steak on a stone was awesome. A massive cut of meat on a sizzling hot stone that you can cook to your own preference, complete with 2 sauces, sea salt, and garlic. Pretty decent cut for the price. We were quite impressed! Service was lovely and the atmosphere is friendly. Very local. I can't wait for next time, to try the coffee and desserts as well!"

"If you want the best local restaurant, THIS IS IT!!! Steak on a stone was the most amazing food experience we had in Portugal! The prices are so affordable (liter of wine for €6!), I am dying to go back again! I cannot say enough good things about our experience here!"

"Food was great! Service was extremely friendly! Definitely a place I would return for authentic Portuguese food! It was so good that I had to come back, this time for breakfast. Though me and the lady running the kitchen couldn’t speak well to each other do to language gap, she was amazing and made me a delicious omelette! So good I ordered a second one. The lady had a beautiful heart, and I kind of felt like I was in my grandmother’s kitchen. Both times this restaurant has exceeded my expectations!"

"I loved this place because it’s a simple local restaurant which many wd overlook due to the basic plastic chairs, condiments sitting in their original containers & paper table cloths. No frills but the food is local lipsmacikngly good. Perfect fresh fish & grilled meats. Delightfully delicious desserts, all homemade to finish the meal. Clam Cataplana (so much!) €15 Fried garlic prawns €7 Large beer €2.50, dessert €2.20! Friendly local staff who care. Do drop by!"

"This is our go to place for a meal when in Lagos. Frequented mainly by locals and the tourists like us are warmly welcomed! The prices are more than reasonable in fact embarrassingly cheap for what you get! Every meal has been exceptional and surpasses expectation. Fresh fish, traditional meals and lovely desserts and wines.if you’re not in a rush and want to sample food made with Love and pride this is the place for you."

"Hidden gem in Lagos, open until 11:30pm, great food and house wine. I was running late for dinner and came across this place by accident on my way to Old tow. What a great experience it ended up being! The stuff don't speak English well but you'll get by. Totally worth it."
